The crash, reported on Tuesday, Jan. 7, caused extensive backups as emergency responders accessed the scene by driving southbound in the northbound lanes, authorities said.

Drivers have been urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Officials have not yet confirmed any injuries, whether other vehicles were involved, or when the highway will reopen.

The incomplete 29th Street overpass has added to the challenge of navigating the crash site, officials noted.

This is a developing situation. More details will be released as they become available.
